Destined for Greatness
Getting the Results You Desire from Yourself and Others
by Dr. Robert L. Lawson
Belief is the one foundational key to all of success. I can think of at least two excellent books that are written on the subject. One is entitled The Magic of Believing, written by Claude M. Bristol, and most recently, You'll See It When You Believe It by Dr. Wayne Dyer. Both of these are must-read books for those individuals who have a consummate desire to obtain excellence.
When I mention the word belief, I do not mean that individuals should strive to obtain those expectations that are virtually unrealistic. Not everyone can be a Michael Jordan, a Zubin Mehta, a Bo Jackson or an Angela Lansbury. The kind of belief I am talking about is where you learn to accept yourself as you are and understand that you most likely have skills, abilities and potentials within yourself that you have not yet taken the time to cultivate.
When I wrote this book, I debated with myself whom I would get to write the introduction. After discussing it with several of my business colleagues, an event I desire to share with you caused me to rethink my strategy and pen it myself. On September 18, 1993, an extraordinary occurrence took place in my life. Geri Ash, Director of Off Campus Programs and Field Experiences at Kent State University, invited me to be a guest lecturer in one of America's most prestigious lecture series, the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Lecture Series.
