Jennie is a graduate of Ashland University in Ohio with a degree in Education Administration and a graduate certificate in Christian Ministry from Liberty University. She says that STAND UP! was developed to reach individuals and families in the community who may not otherwise be aware of available resources or have the tools needed to live prosperously and achieve overall well being. Gill is from Tanzania, East Africa. His personal life experiences and charismatic personality have been integral in sharing this initiative through a global perspective. African symbols and sayings have been interwoven throughout STAND UP! to enrich the participant’s experience. The symbol selected to portray STAND UP! is borrowed from the Ashanti tribe in Ghana. It stands for life transformation. This symbol combines two symbols into one. The “Morning Star” which can mean a new start to the day, placed inside the wheel, representing movement as we STAND UP! and Step Toward A New Direction Using Principles.
