     The author of My Proclamation a young girl who has had a very tough beginning in life at the hands of her own father.  This book details many of the experiences that her mother and siblings endured along with her.  She also highlights her dealings with the legal system that is meant to protect children from abusive parents. The book is written from her perspective as she recalls the traumas that her family endured.  She has had to change names and places in this account to protect herself and her family.   
     Even through this heartache she did well in school and was active and accomplished in several sports.  In spite of all that has happened to this family our author continues to thrive.  Once you begin reading her story, you won’t want to put the book down.  It is very compelling.
